2021 New York Jets: An Implosion At Foxboro

No technical explanation matters in the wake of this hideous outing by the Jets. It’s a pretty familiar situation for Jets fans, nothing on offense and zero on defense. After all this talk of fixing things at the bye meant absolutely nothing because from the first snap the Patriots looked like the team who were on the bye.

Their first quarter woes continued with an instant three and out and an offensive line that looked like their first game of the season, particularly the interior players. Finding words to describe their play has been difficult. Coaching, game plan and play calling all take heavy criticism.

Defense, where do I start? C.J Mosley was out and it showed absurdly. His importance couldn’t be more clear. Over pursuing, missing tackles, missing reads all brought to you by young players who looked lost on obvious plays. We all knew attacking the Linebacking core would be the pats game plan but the players seemed oblivious.

Every criticism and question is merited in this situation and no amount of great practice weeks or poor execution can wash this one away. To add insult to injury Zach Wilson was knocked out of the game in the second quarter. There’s a lot we don’t know but one thing that’s sure is this team is no where ready. Shouts of same old Jets are warranted, there’s more talk than action and that feels painfully familiar. Calls for more experience at back up QB and several other positions where ignored and at this juncture the fans are right. And that’s same ole Jets to me.
