During his presser with the media Wednesday, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas said he would be willing to answer the phone if teams called about trading for quarterback Sam Darnold.
While it was reported weeks ago by uStadium co-founder Nick Spano that Douglas had been taking calls about his team’s current starting quarterback, this is newsworthy because it is the first time Douglas himself has publicly stated he is listening to offers.
So, does this admission by Douglas mean Darnold has taken his final snap as a member of Gang Green?
Spano appears convinced that is probably the case, revealing on today’s “Play Like A Jet” podcast that his source within the organization indicated that of all the plausible scenarios for the Jets at QB, sticking with Darnold was the “least likely” to happen.

Here’s NFL Network’s Rich Eisen opining that he thinks it is over for Sam Darnold in NY:
PFT’s Mike Florio likewise says the writing is on the wall for a Darnold trade:
Not to mention WFAN’s Craig Carton and Evan Roberts, who talked about their belief that the former USC star is finished with the Jets:
