SAM DARNOLD SUITORS: MARCH 1ST LATEST

The market is moving. With the Goff-Stafford trade and now the trade by the Colts to get their guys in Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold is officially the next domino to fall.

The market is moving. With the Goff-Stafford trade and now the trade by the Colts to get their guys in Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold is officially the next domino to fall.

Let’s set the scene. The following teams are in flux a QB this offseason: The Jags, The Jets, The Falcons, The Eagles, The Panthers, The Patriots, The Washington Football Team, The Bears, The Saints, The 49ers, The Texans and The Steelers.

That’s 12 Teams.

But who are the favorites.

Well according to Colin Cowherd, who is a Darnold Super Fan from his days at USC, the two teams who need to call The Jets right now: The Washington Football Team and The Bears.

“You don’t have a quarterback,” Cowherd said of the Bears and Washington. “What are you doing sitting around and waiting? You can get Darnold for almost nothing.”

Cowherd’s right here – Sam Darnold is probably going to be dirt cheap to acquire, at least in comparison to the other quarterback deals that have transpired this off-season.

Darnold’s injury history makes him a risk, though. The former USC star has yet to play a full season with the Jets. When healthy, he’s still an inconsistent and turnover-prone quarterback. Of course, a big reason for that could be his surrounding cast in New York, which has been below-average for years.

Darnold is an intriguing player that is bound to receive interest in the trade market. But there’s no guarantee he solves problems for teams like Chicago or Washington.

“You don’t have a quarterback,” Cowherd said of the Bears and Washington. “What are you doing sitting around and waiting? You can get Darnold for almost nothing.”

– Colin Cowherd

I agree with Cowherd, these two teams must make a move for Sam as they are the long-shots for the Top 4 QBs.

I personally believe that the Top 5 QBs are all gone by 15.

As things stand right now, here is how I see the QB needy teams addressing their situation and who may have an interest in Sam Darnold.

The Guvnor’s QB Carousel – Best Guess As Of March 1

  9. The Saints – Jameis Winston
  10. The 49ers – Jimmy G but let’s watch for Sam Darnold
